Trinity GESE Exam

Our school has incorporated the Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) provided by Trinity College London into our Form 1 and Form 2 curriculum, in order to enhance English abilities of our students.

What are GESE?

GESE are one-to-one oral examinations with a native English-speaking examiner from Trinity College London. They test candidates' ability in listening and speaking. There are four stages with three grades at each stage:

Initial (Grades 1-3)

Elementary (Grades 4-6)

Intermediate (Grades 7-9)

Advanced (Grades 10-12)

How to register?

Students should approach English teachers for registration forms. As our school is an examination centre, the venue of the exam is our school.

How to prepare?

After completing the registration process, our teachers will approach registered students and provide guidance and training. Apart from the English curriculum suggested by EDB, our school also incorporates GESE elements into our curriculum (e.g. internal oral examinations).

Which grade should I register?

In normal circumstances, we suggest:

Form 1: Grades 2-3

Form 2: Grades 4-5

Form 3: Grades 5-6

Form 4: Grade 7
