“Hey Calvin! Are you sure the location of the tomb? We have dug for 8 hours but nothing is discovered,” Alex complained. “Why do you think I know? Why don’t you ask our Great leader?” Calvin derided. “Guys, don’t just grumble. This tomb is the biggest one in the world,” the leader Michael said and started muttering to himself. “It means it has the biggest treasure. When we get it, no one won’t know our group name—King of Grave Robber! And we can buy…”“Woo hoo! I find the door! I find the door! Come here!” Alex exclaimed.
[endif]--As soon as they entered the tomb, they found many human skeletons on the passage. It made them frightened. “Ma…maybe we’d better leave now. It looks like that something terrible is waiting for us,” Calvin stammered and shuddered. “As the old saying goes,‘ no pain, no gain.’ Our perfect future is there. Come on!” said Michael. Then they kept going. After 1 hour, they found a room which had a coffin. Alex wanted to open it to find the valuable funerary objects. Michael stopped him. “Wait a minute. Let me check it first. Maybe there are some traps.” Michael touched the coffin carefully. Then he found some words on the frame. The words were Russian. Luckily Calvin had studied Russian before and he translated it. The words said that the grave robber should leave immediately otherwise they would be cursed and it said only a man who had affection and loyalty could get the treasure.![endif]--
They didn’t worry about the words and kept searching the treasure. They found a hidden passage.
It led them to an altar. The altar was rectangular and there were 4 stone pillars on the altar horn. A giant golden ball was at the center of altar. When they tried to take the golden ball, the tomb started shaking and collapsing. The passage led them to the altar was blocked. So they gave up snatching the golden ball and struggled to find another way. They found one and ran to the way. Rushing towards the end of the way, they saw a bridge which only one person could pass through each time. Suddenly the bridge collapsed. Calvin roared at Alex and Michael, “Did I say we shouldn’t come? Now we will die here. But…but I don’t want to die.”He started to cry after saying that. “Listen, Calvin, Listen! We won’t die here. We can jump over the fissure. Then we can leave here.” Michael persuaded. “We can leave when pigs fly. How can I jump over 8m?” When Calvin said it, Alex started a run-up and plunged. He reached the opposite side! He said,” Look! I do it so can you, Calvin, jump!” Calvin looked at Michael and Alex. They assured him. So he started a run-up and jumped. He arrived there too! Then Michael also jumped and finally joined Alex and Calvin.
Finally they left the tomb safely. Although they could not get any treasure, they got another thing which was more important than any treasure. It is called “friendship”.
